Box Tops for Education Collection Ends


Powell Webstore: Back by popular demand for a very limited time! Our Powell Elementary webstore is open through Monday, October 31 and may be accessed with the link below. There are several school shirts available in our webstore, including sweatshirts. Please keep in mind there must be 10 pieces of each design ordered school wide in order for the design to be printed.


CISD Fun Run: The annual CISD Fun Run will take place October 25. It is open to students in grades 3-6. The one-mile run will start at 4:00p.m. and take place at College Park and The Woodlands High School.


Red Ribbon Week: Since 1995, the Red Ribbon Campaign has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. The school themes we have each day serve as a commitment to raise awareness of the harm caused by drugs and educate our children to be drug-free. Clinic Happenings from Nurse Jean:

Illness we have seen this week:

  • Stomach Virus: With/without fever, nausea, vomiting.
  • Flu like symptoms: Headache, fever, general fatigue. We have had several students with flu like symptoms but have not had a positive flu test.test.

Friendly Reminders from Nurse Jean:

  • As a general reminder, it is a good idea to periodically check your child for lice.
  • Please contact the clinic if your child is absent with an illness.

Nominations for Gifted & Talented Testing: Nominations open October 3, 2016 for Conroe ISD’s Gifted and Talented program. Nominations can be made by the parents and/or teachers. All students can be nominated for the GT screener. However, it is recommended that parents of Kindergarten and 1st grade students wait until 2nd grade. All students in 2nd grade will take the first part of the GT screener in October. Nominations will be accepted through December 16, 2016, and testing will take place in February. The nomination form can be sent to school with your child or emailed to the Assistant Principal, Sarah Radford, at You can find the nomination form attached.

Box Tops for Education: Box Top Collection ends October 28th! Please send your unexpired box tops to school with your child in a plastic baggie. Classes in each grade with the most box tops at the end of the month will receive a special prize! Thanks for clipping and sending in those box tops! Check out the bonus box top app online as well as the box top for education website ( for participating products and opportunity to contribute additional box tops!
