Moving? If your family is planning to move out of the Powell School Zone over the holiday break, please let us know! We request that you complete withdrawal papers to ensure a smooth transition to your next school. Please contact Michelle Lutes, Registrar, at email@example.com or 936-709-1711 to do so.
Holiday Assistance: Different organizations reach out to Powell Elementary to assist our students and families with items for the holidays. Please let us know if you would welcome assistance and would be willing for Mrs. Nixon, our counselor, to call or email you if an organization volunteers to donate this year. In the past we have had organizations offer to donate food, clothing, and toys to our families in need. If you are interested in receiving assistance, please email Mrs. Nixon at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 936-709-1700.
Clinic Happenings from Nurse Jean:
- Illness we have seen this week: Stomach Virus – without fever, vomiting, with/without diarrhea, stomach cramps. Please remember students must be vomit/diarrhea free AND be able to hold down a full meal for 24 hours prior to returning to school. Doing so allows your student to recover and helps keep viruses from spreading to other students.
- Strep Throat – sore throat, nausea, headache, with/without fever. Children must be fever free for 24 hours without the aid of Tylenol or Motrin prior to returning to school.
- Friendly Reminders from Nurse Jean: Please encourage your child to wash their hands throughout the day. It is one of the best ways to prevent illness. As winter weather approaches and holiday sleepovers begin, please remember to routinely check your child for lice and nits (lice eggs). Also remind your student to not share hats with others.
Please do not hesitate to call the clinic if you have any questions. Our direct number is 936-709-1709.
Boosterthon: Greetings Powell Elementary Parents! We are excited to be hosting the Boosterthon Fun Run for the 7th time to help us achieve our fundraising goals for the year. The Boosterthon Fun Run is a fun, nine-day character, fitness and leadership program that combines world-class and engaging character content with a fundraising event for our school. This year we are raising funds for playground repairs, tutoring, and much more. Thank You ahead of time for your support!
ARE YOU ASSOCIATED WITH A LOCAL BUSINESS? SPONSOR OUR T-SHIRTS!
Parents and Community Partners, we need your help! Each student will be provided with a FREE custom Powell Elementary t-shirt to wear the day of the Fun Run event. This is at no cost to the students. We are hoping to partner with community businesses to off-set the cost of the shirts. We need a commitment from all sponsors by December 16, 2016 in order to have the business logos printed on the shirts.
Thank you in advance for your support of the Boosterthon Fun Run T-Shirts! If you have any questions, please contact Becky Harel at email@example.com.
