|March 13-17||Spring Break
Note from Mrs. Garrison: We have had a great start to 2017. We are approaching the end of our 3rd grading period. Continue encouraging your child to do their best. Now is the time of year where we really see growth in our students. Have a safe and happy spring break!
Attendance: We have many students missing school for various reasons including falling ill due to the continual change in temperatures. We ask that all families work to have their kids at school each and every day. It makes a tremendous difference in their performance in each class. We want all of our students to be successful and attendance is the number one indicator of success.
Please help your child and everyone at the school by being here each day. We will be closely monitoring your child’s attendance, and letters will be sent to parents if your child’s absences begin to accumulate.
Thank you for your help on this important matter.

Youth Art Month: In order to celebrate Art Education and the fine work produced by the Conroe Independent School District visual art students, the art teachers of our district are hosting a student exhibit at all three of the Montgomery County Libraries. We are thrilled to announce that Logan O’Brien (3rd – Anderson), Anais Gonzales-Nagels (3rd – Anderson), Jack Tresaugue (3rd – Falast) and Neha Nair (4th – Beach) have artwork that has been chosen to be part of this year’s Youth Art Month Student Exhibit at the Mitchell Public Library from March 4th through March 30th.
Please feel free to drop in during regular business hours to view the show. We are so proud of our Powell Panthers and all of the efforts they put into their work!
Clinic Happenings from Nurse Jean:
Illness we have seen this week: Strep Throat – with/without sore throat, with/without fever, with/without nausea.
Friendly Reminders from Nurse Jean: Medications (including cough drops, Tylenol and rescue inhalers) MUST be brought to school by a parent or guardian and signed into the clinic with the nurse or clinic aide. Please do not send medications to school with your child.
Please do not hesitate to call the clinic if you have any questions. Our direct number is 936-709-1709.
Parent Access: Stay informed of your child’s grades and plan ahead to view your child’s STAAR scores. STAAR scores will only be accessible through Parent Access. To create a Parent Access Account please visit Conroeisd.net and click on the Parents/Students tab. Under Resources for Parents, choose Parent Access Center. You will then choose Register. You will need your child’s student ID number to create an account. You must apply separately for each of your children but you will be able to use the same login and password for all of your children.
