Thanks for attending donuts with dudes! We love having dads and dudes in the building.
This week students in all classes enjoyed learning about Curiosity. Next week, students will learn about Teamwork/Citizenship. Please see the attached Character Card for more information. We look forward to recognizing our students who are good teammates and citizens!
Note from the Attendance Clerk
Please make sure you are contacting the school front office every day your child is absent. Contact the school by phone (936)-709-1700, or by email to our attendance clerk at email@example.com with the reason for the childs absence. Without correspondence, your childs absence will be marked as unexcused. While contacting the teacher might be helpful for getting missed work, the teachers are not always able to forward absence notices in a timely manner due to their full class schedules. If your child sees a physician, we also ask that you bring in the doctors note upon your childs return to school. If you are interested in more information about Conroe ISD attendance guidelines please refer to the Elementary school Handbook, pages 29-34.
Our Fall Community Outreach Workshop will be Flipping the Switch on Anxiety by Kelly Locke LPC/Mental Health Specialist. It is offered by CISD Guidance & Counseling on September 25, 2018 9:00 -10:30 am at Deretchin K-6 School. The address is 11000 Merit Oaks Drive.
Collin Kartchner is coming to Texas on October 24 at the Nancy Bock Center of Performing Arts Auditorium (at McCullough Jr High School), 3800 Panther Creek Drive at 7pm
Founder of the nationwide movements #SavetheKids and #SavetheParents, Collin Kartchner is an internet crusader, youth advocate, and social activist spreading education and awareness nationwide on the negative effects of social media and screen addiction on our mental and emotional health. His ability to connect with young people as well as to their parents empowers us to rethink the way we use our phones, and how we connect to each other. He specifically focuses on how the correlation between teen social media and screen-time addiction relates to the epidemic spike in teen anxiety, depression, and suicide. Collin raised $100,000 for Hurricane Harvey victims last year, and will be in the Houston area only two nights (Katy Oct 23 and The Woodlands Oct 24).This is a life-changing event not to be missed. Come early to get a seat!
