Counselor Spring Small Groups

Small counseling groups will be starting in January. There will be three small groups. One group, catering to 2-4 graders, focuses on separation and divorce. The second group, catering to kindergarten and first graders, focuses on developing friendships and social skills. The third group, for Third and Fourth graders empowers students to realize they are in control of their futures. The groups meet once a week for thirty minutes for 6 weeks. The students will participate in discussions and activities aimed at furthering the development of your child’s social/emotional skills. Please see the permission form and attachment for more information. The permission form must be returned to school if you would like your child to participate.

Please remember the counselor is here to help with family assistance. Feel free to call 936-709-1700 or email snixon@conroeisd.net

PTO News

The Powell PTO depends on volunteers like you to help make the year a success. There are many ways to help throughout the year – big and small! Signing up does not commit you to anything. You will be added to our volunteer database where you will learn about the various ways you can help throughout the year.

Please remember to complete the Volunteer Background Check at the bottom of the page to be able to volunteer at our school!

PTO has the following positions available this year: VP of Membership, Carnival Co-Chairs, Silent Auction Chairperson, Room Mom Liaison, Spirit Store Coordinator and Staff Appreciation Chairperson.

Volunteer Background Check

All volunteers in our school must complete the CISD Volunteer Background Check. This includes classroom readers, party volunteers, field trip chaperones and event volunteers. You can complete the free background check here.

Parent Access

Please sign up for a Parent Access account (PAC) if you have not done so already. This account will allow you to receive announcements, newsletters, safety information, absence and tardy notifications and other important updates. Throughout the year, you can log in to view grades, report cards, discipline records, cafeteria accounts and STAAR scores. If you registered for an account last year, you will not need to re-register for an account this year.
