A Message from Powell Specials Teachers

Dear Powell Families,

On behalf of the Specials Team we would like to welcome you back for the 20-21 school year. We are so lucky to have the honor of teaching all the students here at Powell Elementary, so we would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. Be sure to check out our introductory video linked below to learn more about each one of us and our subject.

As this new year begins in the uncharted territory of virtual learning, we realize there are a lot of questions regarding specials and online learning. All students will attend each Specials class weekly; during online learning we continue to expect each student to participate in at least one Specials class daily. Students are welcome to work at their own pace, in whichever order Specials subject they would like each day, being mindful to attend all subjects during the week. We do not want to overwhelm your students, so please complete the assignments to the best of your ability weekly. Students will use the same forums, such as Seesaw and Canvas depending on their grade level, to access our courses. To help better organize the weekly work provided, our Week At A Glance chart will be sent out every Friday. Attached is an example of this chart.

We are here to help your students learn and grow, so should any questions arise please contact the Specials teacher for that course directly. Our main goal as the Specials Team is to build relationships and connect with your students. We are always interested in what they are learning and experiencing this school year. To help build those relationships during this time apart, we would love to see the skills they are working on, so whether through Canvas, Seesaw or email feel free to share students successes along the way.

We are looking forward to being your teachers and having an amazing year together, both virtually and in person when the time comes.

Sincerely,
The Powell Specials Team
